We process Macrocarpa offcuts into firewood as part of our zero-waste philosophy. Macrocarpa is a hot burning wood which seasons well when stored where it will be exposed to wind and rain, and doesn’t re-absorb moisture once dry.
We service the wider Dunedin area and Mosgiel. Delivery is available Monday – Friday, and bookings can be made over the phone or via the delivery request form below.

It is suitable for standard size fireplaces.
Our firewood is stored outside, so it may be rain wet. It is semi seasoned and not ready to burn. It still requires further seasoning.
Firewood FAQs
Can I get a WINZ quote?
Yes we can give you a WINZ quote for firewood. Please let us know in the Special instructions field of the delivery request form.
What is macrocarpa block?
Macrocarpa block is one of our most popular firewoods. It is sourced from slab offcuts from our sawmill, which we cut even further to be firewood size. This type of wood provides you with a range of different sizes, and you will generally get a mix of large, chunky pieces (no longer than 300mm), and also some medium and smaller sized pieces (the smaller bits are great for kindling).
I have and open fire, what type of firewood should I buy?
Pine or bluegum can be more appropriate options for open fires, as Macrocarpa can emit sparks. Get in contact with us to discuss the best options for you.
Do I need to store my firewood inside?
Macrocarpa seasons best when it is in a well ventilated area, and exposed to the sun, wind, and rain. Pine needs to be stored out of the elements, and seasons best under cover in a well ventilated area. Pine will season faster under cover and must be protected from the rain to dry.
How many metres can you deliver at once?
Our trucks have a 6 cubic metre capacity.
What is the cost for delivery?
Delivery to most areas in Dunedin City and Mosgiel is free for orders over 3 cubic metres. Some suburbs do incur a delivery fee (e.g. wider Dunedin area, suburbs on the peninsula etc.). Get in touch with us to enquire about your options.
